Ted Demme
A versatile filmmaker who is known for tackling different genres, Ted Demme started his career back in the late 80’s producing for MTV’s "Yo! MTV Raps." He made his feature debut with the hip-hop comedy "Who’s the Man?," followed by "The Ref," starring Kevin Spacey and Denis Leary. In 1996, Demme made his first box-office hit with the ensemble comedy, "Beautiful Girls," starring Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman, Natalie Portman, and Timothy Hutton. His other notable directing credits include the Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence comedy "Life" and the action-drama "Blow," about drug lord George Jung, starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz.
In 2002, at the age of 38, Demme passed away shortly after collapsing at a celebrity basketball game. A DECADE UNDER THE INFLUENCE was his final film.
