Paradise Lost 2: Revelations
Directed by
Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky
Paradise Lost 2: Revelations revisits the 1993 Arkansas murders of three 8-year-old boys and the three teenagers convicted of the crime in 1994. A follow up to Paradise Lost, Revelations features new interviews with the convicted men, as well as with the original judge and police investigators while focusing on advocates who believe the young men are innocent. A disturbing and moving documentary, Revelations is investigative journalism and advocacy at its best. The West Memphis Three case, as with the OJ Simpson's murder trial or JonBenet Ramsey's unsolved murder, will remain in the spotlight for years to come as an example of America's judicial system gone horribly astray.

I am a grade 12 student at Marymount Aacademy in Canada. My law class watched both docu's and worked alot with the case. I do believe that these three young men were treated very unfairly but I found the movie to be very biased and focused on Mark Byers to be depicted as a crazy lunatic. Hey he lost his wife and his child I'd go a little crazy too.. but who knows maybe he did do it.. I just would really like to see a film or read something that shows both sides without being biased to one side. I do believe although that they should be retrialed in a new area, far away with new judge and everything.. and make sure to visit www.wm3.org and donate to the defense fund every little bit helps. Thank You

They are as guilty as hell. You got one kid confessing. You can say all you want about him taking it back or he is border line retarted. But if you dont know anything about that killing you would not of been able to give the kind of detail that kid gave. Yeah...its a sad case but remember. There is a dead child here. I feel sorry for the parents of the three children but i feel more sorry for the parents of the dead child.

whoever the anonymous person is who said that misskelley's confession was true, you are an idiot. only 45 minutes of the interrogations was recorded, and id you didnt see paradise lost you wouldnt know how jessie misskelley is subject to suggestion. he was in there for 123 hours and he gave them what they wanted. end of story.

to anyone on this, or any other page, that believes that Damien, Jessie or jason committed the murders is a complete moron. and Carl, why dont you pick up a book and research it yourself? and if you claim, as a rebuttle, that you did, than i just don't know what to say to someone that ignorant.

Coming from a mother of 2 very young boys....I listen to heavy metal and what is known as "death metal". It is my preference of music. It is how I express myself. I have never hurt anything. I have actually wrecked a vehicle to keep from running over a cat. Your preferences in clothing and music do not mean you're a bad person. If a person listens to country music and wears a cowboy hat, does that mean he's a "redneck"? It's very obvious that Mark Byers commited this crime and he should be ashamed to go to church after all that. Those boys were easy targets to pin the crime on because they were "outsiders". Hey! Damien! If you're reading this, you're welcome at my home any time! We'll jam to some Metallica all damn night! Hell, bring some Deicide! And they can all kiss our asses!

well i think if someone like jessie misskelley can confess to a murder that later on he says he didnt do is extremely strange reguardless of his IQ,and how he can know specific details about the crime scene that only investigators knew about is very bizzare, but as always my prays are with the families of the 3 little boys murdered and god will be the one to judge the other three in time, as for a retrial i think justice has been done thanks to jessie misskelley's confession and the questionable comment of damien (I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE FAMOUS AND NOW KIDS IN WEST MEMPHIS WILL BE SAYING WHEN THEY LOOK UNDER THEIR BEDS I WONDER IF DAMIEN'S UNDER THERE, THE WEST MEMPHIS BOOGEY MAN!) what were you thinking damien?,why would you say that?hrmmm.

I have seen both Paradise Lost and Paradise Lost revelations. I feel for those boys and there parents. I have a son that dress different and everyone thinks he is a problem child. Little do they know he was an honour student. I have been thinking of Damian alot and hoping they have not murdered him. He seems like a very smart kid and is being punished for being different. I think Mark Beyers is a moron as he says alot. I think his wife did it and he helpped her along the way. They both seem very unstable and nothing would surprise me with them. Mark Beyers needs to be in jail and someone show him what is like to be out of control.
He needs a taste of what poor Damian went through. Damian will never be the same when he does get out for what happen to him in there. I am hoping you can let Damian know i am thinking of him and hope his day will come and he will be free to live a normal life.

This is a tragedy -- those boy's were totally treated unfair where is the evidence? Can someone please SHOW me the evidence what about inocent until proven guilty? I guess that did not apply in this case.

I belive that D.echols did not get a far trail, I lived in Memphis Tn all my life and West memphis Ark.Is a small town and everybody knows everybody.I belive that the judge, lawyer and the Police know that they did not review all of the evedience in this case and are scared to come foward becouse of what might happen. I know people that have been in jail in west memphis and they do not get a far trail. The police in west memphis have nothing better to do so they blame these three boys for that. The police know who did it and refuse to say becouse of what the rest of the people might think. Damine-hang in there and please have faith .

the movie tried to paint a picture that just is not based in fact (research it yourself), and used the ever-entertaining diversion of mark byers to distract from the lack of exculpatory evidence they had.

The first time that I seen this movie I was so pissed off. These boys were convicted of a crime with no evidence. Mark Byers really pissed me off, I can't belive him. He is so fake and rehearsed. My opinion is his wife and him killed those babies. I want to see the boys free.

I have only seen the first one and can't wait to see the second one but if you ask me right now about the boy's guilt I would have to say that the evidence leaves you guessing. How could these three young boy's be able to leave a crime scene so clean that the local police were unable to find any physical evidence? Next, are trying to tell me they skinned that little boy's penis with a "Rambo" knive? Come on! I've skinned deer, rabbit, etc. and I can tell you that there is no way they were that precise with such a big knive. I feel that there is still alot to be learned about this case and I can't wait to see the second one.

I really enjoyed the way you captured the fear that was manipulated by the press. Someone had to kill those boys so it must be these three teenagers. That towns police and judge should really step down and admit they blew it. When will you be updating with a Paradise 3?

This is a brilliant Docu, It does tend to get a little bit gonzo as points, but it is a good followup to the original "Paradise Lost". These 2 films are an amazing document of the ability of a small community to be blinded by its own assumptions, and in what horrible ends that egoism can result. The first film is an a must; and the second adds a good deal of supplimentary material. It's relatively odd to have a sequel to a Documentary; and this one reads almost as being part of the first film. But it is an essential next chapter in the story.
Unfortunately Pardise Lost (the first film) is not on DVD, but it is still available on VHS.
These films will make you angry at the small-mindedness of the procecutors and judicial system in this particular slice of middle america.

I think I have seen this tape "Paradise Lost" at least 3 times. I still can't believe how many officials missed the real facts of the case. These 3 young children were murdered but not by these teenagers. It was Mark Beyers, anyone who can not see that is truely blind. The bible says it is a sin to kill ... so why are we murdering our innocent children. By the way ... what is the newest update with the three teenagers in prison?

I have read all the books out there and the two movies and feel that these boys should have a retrial, judge and all.I don't think they should be sitting in prison as long as they have been. All in all a real good look into the mistakes the law HAS made.

i watched paradise lost 1and2 and then read devils knot by mara leveritt. i can't belive what an idiot judge burnett was and how badly the WMPD botched up the case. its unreal. i have hope that they will be released from prison, but they live in a rural, redneck town where its not ok to be different, and as long as judge burnett is in charge of thier case i feel they don't have a chance. i can't believe he's really a judge, he's such a moron.
but this case has totally inspired me to work with the juvenile justice system, its what i'm doing my research paper on now.

well in this movie its quite obvious that the law has made some terrible mistakes but then again its all how you carry yourself. Damien may have been expressing his individuality, thats cool but in court i belive that he should have acted diffrently. this movie truly brings out the missing truths. and yes i believe they are innocent and need to be retrialed
